Suspect is the newest mystery by Robert Crais. For those who love reading about dogs, it is a winner; but it also will resonate with those interested in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The story revolves around two main characters, a military German Shepherd Dog and a Los Angeles police officer, both with PTSD. They connect with each other when neither can connect with anyone else and they help each other recover from some of the problems of their illness. Along the way, they manage to solve a mystery that seems unsolvable. This is a great mystery story and a wonderful paean to the awesome connections that can exist between a human and a dog.
